HWY 145, PERRY/CRAWFORD COUNTIES, INDIANA

This project involved a completely new alignment to connect I-64 to

the SR 37 interchange (exit 79) north 6.0 miles to just south of the

Norfolk Southern Railroad Bridge, in Perry/Crawford Counties in

Indiana, approximately 50 miles west of downtown Louisville, KY.

The design is a good example of a two lane, paved shoulder, full

depth HMA, with a thirty foot clear zone. The design speed of 60

mph and grades up to 4% through wooded rolling terrain have

produced a new roadway with beautiful scenery. This project

demonstrates the quality and smoothness that can be achieved

with the use of HMA pavement.
