IM-NH 64-2 (167): LOUISVILLE-LEXINGTON ROAD (I-64)
Widen I-64 to 6 lanes from 0.77 MI west of Jefferson-Shelby County line to just west of the Eastbound Rest Area, a distance of 4.48 miles. Includes Grade, Drain, Asphalt Pavement, and Bridge work. The Project included several Phases, move traffic to the outside lane and shoulder. Then widened the median pavement and bridges placing a Median
Barrier Wall between East and West bound traffic. The next
phase move the traffic to the newly constructed median lanes
so the outside lanes and shoulder widening could be
constructed. When the construction on outside lanes was
completed then the new asphalt surface was placed over the entire
project. Project will be completed in the fall 2011.
